The Magic of Winning a Championship

                 Source: From www.brandnewcool.com

Just a few weeks ago, the most unexpected thing that could ever happen happened in the NBA. Of course, the Dallas Mavericks, the so- called "one and done" boys of the NBA due to their first round exits in the past, won the NBA championship and got themselves the much coveted Larry O'Brien trophy.

Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki together with his teammates, co- future Hall of Famer Jason Kidd, Jason "The Jet" Terry, Shawn "The Matrix" Marion, and former Dominguez High star Tyson Chandler, literally outclassed the Big 3 of the Miami Heat. In fact, during the post- game analysis, former NBA player and now NBA TV analyst Greg Anthony said, "the team that wins a seven game series is always considered the better team, and the Dallas Mavericks in this series was the better team."(Might not be the exact stuff he said but definitely, somewhere along these lines).

So, yes, Dallas was the better team and they are now officially, the world champions. Regardless, if Dirk was obviously a bad singer during the parade, or Mr. Stevenson got arrested, NO ONE CARES! Simply because at the end of day, they are no longer losers but Winners. And people always love winners. And that is just the way it is.

To simply put it, WINNING ERASES EVERYTHING. No more talk about getting eliminated by the Warriors in '07, by the Hornets in '08 or whatever. All of it is history.

So, what is the lesson here my friends? In life, as much as we want to win all the time, it just never happens. In fact, we lose a lot of battles. Yet, what really makes everything worthwhile is how we can go from total obscurity to being on top of the world. As long as we believe in ourselves and we put everything in HIS hands, then it can happen. Just look at Dirk and company who ironically, made us all witnesses of this.

Don't ever lose hope for eventually, you will win that elusive championship that you have always wanted ever since. If you still don't believe me, just ask Dirk...:)

  1. The championship of the Dallas Mavericks taught me two things. First, Teamwork wins over talent. If you look back at the 2004 NBA Finals, the Los Angles Lakers which boasted of 4 future Hall of Famers: Shaquille Oneal, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone and Gary Payton lost to the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons didn't have a legitimate go-to-guy but rather each one of them plays a key role for the team's success. Second, perseverance will eventually get you to the top. Losing hope is the last thing a person can do when faced with challenges in life.

Basketball is not only a sport but it also teaches us important life lessons that will help you grow as a person

  2. I SUPER agree with you on that. I really hope that people would see basketball as more than just a game but as a tool that can teach ALL OF US various life lessons. Thanks for your comment Tshizzle28!:) I totally appreciate it.
