Manu Ginobili

If there are draft busts, there are also draft steals. These are the players who were not taken high or were not even taken at all during the draft but were able to perform well in the league. Feel free to add any player whom you feel should have been included in the list if ever I missed out on them.

#10 (tie) Lou Williams (drafted 46th overall, '05 draft) and Mo Williams (drafted 47th overall, '03 draft): A lot of people said that their games would suffer in the league because they came out too early. Yet, they both turned out to be explosive scoring point guards and are assets to their respective teams.

#9 Paul Millsap (drafted 47th overall, '06 draft): This guy led the nation in rebounding for three straight years. Yet, he was labeled as a "tweener" and he ended up in the second round. Even so, Paul Millsap proved everyone wrong by being a double- double machine for the Utah Jazz.

#8 Wes Matthews (undrafted, '09 draft): Wes Matthews was heavily underrated. As a result, he went undrafted. Yet, as a rookie he was the starting 2 guard for the Utah Jazz. Now. he is with the Blazers and he did a magnificent job filling in for the injured Brandon Roy last season.

#7 Luis Scola (drafted 56th overall, '02 draft): Though it took some years before Mr. Scola could play in the NBA, he was definitely worth the wait. Aside from having the most unique hair in basketball, he is also regarded as one of the craftiest players around. His basketball IQ is superb and is a very fun player to watch.

#6 Monta Ellis (drafted 40th overall, '05 draft): He was the 2nd round pick of the Warriors in the '05 draft but he turned out to be their franchise player after a few years. Explosive, exciting, and energetic,. Monta Ellis was indeed a major steal in the draft.

#5 Gilbert Arenas (drafted 30th overall, '01 draft): If Agent Zero was healthy for the past few seasons and if he just behaved properly, then, without a doubt, he would have been #1 in this list. Still, #5 is not bad for a guy who has not been himself for the past few seasons.

#4 Michael Redd (drafted 43rd overall, '00 draft): Prior to the injuries he has had for the past three seasons, Michael Redd was regarded as one of the best shooters in the world. A multiple all- star and a part of the "Redeem Team" during the '08 Olympics. Well, these are fanatic credentials for someone who was passed up heavily in the 2000 draft.

#3 Rajon Rondo (drafted 21st overall, '06 draft): No one thought that Rondo could be a star in the NBA because of his questionable jumper. Yet, as we all know, he proved everyone wrong as he has already become one of the top 5 point guards in the league. And of course, don't ever forget how he dominated during the 2010 playoffs.

#2 Tony Parker (drafted 28th overall, '01 draft): He was passed up by many teams and it motivated him to be more. And yes, he achieved more than what was expected. He was named finals MVP in 2007, a multiple all- star and for some time, he was married to Eva Longoria. This kid from France indeed has a silky smooth  game.

#1 Manu Ginobili (drafted 57th overall, 99 draft): A three time NBA champion, a gold medalist, a multiple all- star, and a god in Argentina. Manu Ginobili was the hands down choice as the top steal in the NBA draft from 1999-2010.

  4. I agree with mr. johnmerisdrugfree, the spurs have proven all these years that can draft really well. Aside from Blair, they also got George Hill.
