With Joel Embiid's injury troubles, Jahlil Okafor instantly becomes Philly's focal point.
The 2015-2016 Projected Roster
Point Guards: Tony Wroten, Kendall Marshall, Isaiah Canaan
Shooting Guards: Nik Stauskas, Hollis Thompson
Small Forwards: Robert Covington, Jerami Grant, Gerald Wallace, JP Tokoto
Power Forwards: Nerlens Noel, Carl Landry, Richaun Holmes
Centers: Jahlil Okafor, Furkan Aldemir, Jakarr Sampson
The Optimistic View
Even if Dario Saric will still be playing overseas and Joel Embiid will once again miss the whole season, the Sixers did land the most likely Rookie of the Year for the upcoming season in Duke bigman Jahlil Okafor. Some experts question Okafor's superstar potential. Yet, almost everyone agrees that he will be a very solid NBA player. So, for a team looking for any sort of bright spot to start with, Okafor indeed fits the bill for the Sixers. Nerlens Noel played pretty well for them last season as well.
The Realistic Expectations
Barring any type of miracle, the Sixers find themselves as major lottery candidates once again. The team is young and even with the additions of veterans like Carl Landry and Gerald Wallace and a sharpshooter like Nik Stauskas, it seems like the team lacks the needed firepower to win games this upcoming season.
Bottomline
With Saric and Embiid still not around, the Sixers are once again top candidates for the 1st overall pick. At least, Sam Hinkie is still excited because we know very well that he loves the draft so much.
Bold Prediction
The Sixers will once again finish last in the Eastern Conference and most likely, will have the worst record in the NBA.
