Season Preview: New York Knicks

Will Carmelo Anthony, Arron Afflalo, Robin Lopez, Derrick Williams and 2015 4th overall pick Kristaps Porzingis co-exist for the Knicks and play sweet (Triangle) music together?

The 2015-2016 Projected Roster

Point Guards: Jerian Grant, Langston Galloway, Jose Calderon

Shooting Guards: Arron Afflalo, Sasha Vujacic, Wesley Saunders

Small Forwards: Carmelo Anthony, Cleanthony Early, Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Power Forwards: Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick Williams, Kyle O'Quinn

Centers: Robin Lopez, Lou Amundson, Kevin Seraphin

The Optimistic View
First and foremost, the win-loss record is back to 0-0. Basically, a new season and a fresh start for the Knicks, Derek Fisher, Phil Jackson, Carmelo Anthony and the whole of Gotham City. Kris Porzingis showed immense potential during the summer league and played with a lot of swag. Most importantly, he looked and played like a gamer who showed innate love to play the game of basketball. Carmelo Anthony looked very healthy and incredibly trimmed down  during the mini- Team USA camp held in Vegas last month. Phil Jackson did not land the Big names in free agency but got good enough players who seemed fit to play the triangle and who really want to be in New York. Derek Fisher looked way more comfortable during summer league after a really tough rookie year as a coach.

The Realistic Expectations
There will always be pressure to perform when a team is playing in New York. With a team that is now composed of players who are more suited to play the triangle and a healthy, legitimate superstar in Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks look poise to bounce back. Will they dominate and win a title? Of course not. Will they surprise people with their improved play? Most likely. Will they be competitive? Most definitely.

Bottomline
If things go according to plan, the Knicks will surely be a better team thanhow they were last year. They have a legit chance of being a good enough team to make the playoffs in the East.

Bold Predictions
The Knicks will contend for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. Best case scenario for them will be a 6th spot in the East. If they don't make the playoffs, they will either be at 9th or 10th place.
